Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla on Saturday described the present as a “golden period” for India’s space exploration, highlighting the growing global enthusiasm surrounding the country’s missions.
Speaking at the main event of National Space Day in New Delhi, Shukla said that interest in India’s space achievements extends far beyond national borders, with agencies like the Japanese and European Space Agencies showing keen excitement.
“This excitement for India is present all over the world… The Japanese and the European Space Agencies are much more excited about our missions. This is the golden period for our country as far as space exploration is concerned,” he remarked.
Looking ahead, Shukla underlined India’s ambitious goals, including the Gaganyaan human spaceflight program, the Bharatiya Antriksh Station, and future lunar landings. He stressed that achieving these milestones would require collective effort and national resources.
“We have some very big ambitions going forward… To achieve such bold goals, we need the resources of the entire nation. The excitement I see here today is not limited to this room,” he told the gathering.
Later, Shukla also inaugurated the Aryabhatta Gallery at the Nehru Planetarium, urging young people to remain curious and inspired. “Be curious, be excited. It is a golden time for our country. We have ambitious dreams, and it will take all of us to make them a reality,” he said.
